WIDE AREA YOUTH NET PREAMBLE short version
Good evening everyone. Welcome to the weekly two meter Wide Area Youth Net. My callsign is _______________, and my name is ______________. I will be your net control for this evening.
This net is held for the purpose of giving everyone, especially younger hams, an opportunity to get together on the air to share ham radio experiences, and to promote the hobby of ham radio. We encourage everyone to check in regardless of age. At this time, are there any stations with emergency or priority traffic. Tonight's question is _______________(choose one from the list or make up one of your own.)
Since we are being heard through three different repeaters, I would like to ask everyone to wait until the repeater you are listening to is called before you check in. Please try and transmit one at a time and do so slowly, so my asking for repeats can be held to a minimum. Check in with your callsign and first name. I will start now by calling for check ins on the McAllister 146.880 repeater. **Special note..you can change the order of the repeaters at any time. You do not have to always start with the 146.880 repeater.) (ask for check ins and write them down. When no further check ins seem to be coming in, start with the first call on your list and ask for comments. When finished with the list, ask for any further checkins from that repeater, if none, then go to the next repeater....)
I will now ask for check ins on the 146.835 Oconto Falls repeater. (follow same procedure as above, and go to the last repeater.)
I will now ask for check ins on the 147.120 Gaylord repeater. (again follow the same procedure as before.)
(When you have gone through the Gaylord check ins, ask the following: Are there any more stations who would like to check in to the Wide Area Youth Net from any repeater, come now with your callsign and location, one at a time and slowly.
(When no more stations are heard, you can wrap up the net as follows:)
I enjoyed being your net control this evening. Next week's net control is listed on the YACHT webpage. Thanks for participating in this evening's net. I hope you have found it to be interesting and plan to return next week. Thanks to WA8WG, KB9DSV, and N8JCN for the use of this linked repeater system. 73, and good evening. This is ____________ clear, and returning the repeaters to regular amateur use.
